Introduction

OTB Announcements is a Shopify app that lets merchants create and manage announcement bars directly within their storefronts. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a store owner.

By installing OTB Announcements, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the app:

• Shop data — your Shopify store domain and access tokens required to authenticate with the Shopify API and render the announcement bar in your theme.
• Announcement content — the messages, schedules, and region-targeting settings you configure inside the app.
• Basic usage data — minimal operational data needed to keep the app running reliably (e.g. error logs).

We do not collect personal information about your customers, browsing behaviour, or any data beyond what is needed to provide the announcement bar functionality.

How We Use Your Data

Data collected is used solely to:

• Authenticate your store and maintain your session with Shopify.
• Store and serve the announcement configurations you create.
• Deliver the announcement bar to your storefront via a Shopify theme extension.
• Diagnose and fix technical issues with the app.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Shopify API & Data Handling

OTB Announcements is built on the Shopify platform and uses Shopify's official APIs to integrate with your store. Data exchanged between your store and our app is governed by Shopify's Privacy Policy in addition to this policy.

We request only the Shopify API scopes necessary to render and manage announcement bars. We do not request access to customer orders, payment details, or other sensitive store data.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a secured database. We apply industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.

Access to stored data is restricted to systems and personnel required to operate and support the app.

Third-Party Services

OTB Announcements does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app operates entirely within your Shopify store context.

Your Rights

As a Shopify store owner you have full control over your data:

• Access & export — all announcement data you create is visible and manageable inside the app dashboard.
• Deletion — uninstalling OTB Announcements from your Shopify admin triggers the removal of your store's data from our systems within 48 hours.
• Opt-out — you can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from the Apps section of your Shopify admin.
